Avail Amazon.com and Amazon.ca – at least, it was when I bought it … !

I bought this Salton Vita Pro Dehydrator off Amazon and, honestly, it works just fine. A more expensive one might work the food a bit differently, but I’m good for now.

Veg – or steak – doesn’t really need any seasoning – they taste amazing even without the added salt

My Kid Tt started dehydrating steak as jerky, with all his fancy seasonings, for ‘school lunches’ but I soon realized that he was wolfing it down long before it ever hit an knapsack, making it just really expensive ‘candy’.

Next time I’ll bake these figs after dehydrating, w some honey – similar to a candied nut?

It’s handiest at Apple harvest season, as we have two trees with a total of 5 varieties on them, ripening within a few weeks of each other. Apple chips, anyone? Apple chips – EVERYONE! Perfect w a light sprinkle of Tajin seasoning – our most-used after sea salt these days.

SOOOOOO many apples! I dip them in a lemon water before dehydrating to keep the brown away

But, surprisingly, my very favourite food to dehydrate is – TOMATOES. Somehow the liquid goes, but the flavours really intensify, making for a truly delicious “chip” snack. I’ve also used them to hold Bruschetta bites, instead of baguette. DELISH and CARB-FREE!

EVEN better than CHIPS! That says a LOOOOOOT coming from me haha. No salt, either!

Cranberries from my “Cranberry Day” were a pleasant surprise, becoming like Pop Rocks in your mouth! And Red Peppers are perfect dehydrated, ground down in a mortar and pestle, and sprinkled on salads or on top of other dishes as a delicious garnish.

My kid Tt ate DOZENS of these as “pop rocks” – probably had never eaten a Cranberry in his life before that

Add a little aioli to your dehydrated goodies and VOILA! Perfect for charcuterie trays, lunch bags, movie snacks, etc etc.
